Each ASU course will cost $250 + a $50 administration fee for MOHS setup. Compare this to the national average of almost $900 per course for public, in-state universities!

ASU at MOHS FAQs

ASU at MOHS is a partnership between Arizona State University (ASU) and MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS), where eligible students can take college courses online while still enrolled in MOHS. This dual enrollment allows students to get a jump-start on their college plans, while still progressing toward their high school graduation.

Parents and students can review the courses in this program at ea.asu.edu/courses/. Please note that not all ASU courses are available every semester, and some courses have prerequisites to complete prior to starting them. All students in the program must take ASU’s orientation course prior to beginning their ASU coursework.

Both! When a student completes a course through the ASU Universal Learner Program with an A, B, or C, they can convert it to a credit that will show up on an official ASU transcript. At that point, we will also grant the student credit toward their graduation requirements at MOHS. Some courses may be counted toward core MOHS requirements (such as math, English, and so on), and other courses may be counted as electives.

All courses available for the ASU at MOHS program are instructor-led, 8-week or 16-week courses. Courses start at various times during the year. 

As is the nature of many online university courses, students will have a regular online meeting schedule. Each instructor and course will have their own syllabus and policies about their online classroom. In contrast with MOHS, students may have attendance requirements, meeting requirements (such as speaking during the meeting or having their camera on), and/or inflexible assignment deadlines. 

Please keep in mind when considering your enrollment in this program that courses will have less flexibility than those at MOHS. Students must be confident of their commitment to completing the courses according to each instructor’s expectations.

MOHS may be able to provide limited support for these courses during office hours, but the primary contact person for support is the student’s ASU instructor. Students can contact their instructor for help through ASU’s platform. It is important to keep in mind that our MOHS teachers are not teaching these courses and often do not have the expertise in those subject areas that the ASU instructors do, so the ASU instructor will almost always be the best point of contact. 

Outside of the classroom, our academic counselor will help guide students through the enrollment process and credit transfer process once a course is completed.

After enrolling with MOHS, and provided students meet all of the eligibility requirements below, students and parents can meet with our academic counselor to initiate the process. We will guide you through the enrollment process with ASU, which requires creating an account through their platform and gaining access to their online systems. Upon your first enrollment, our academic counselor will enroll students into the free, non-credit orientation course, which will help explain what students need to do as a student in the ASU Universal Learner Program. Finally, parents will pay the $50 administrative fee per course (detailed below) to begin their enrollment.

Through our partnership with ASU, we are able to offer these courses at a greatly reduced cost. Each ASU Universal Learner course will cost:

  • $250 per course to cover each ASU course, due at the completion of the course, plus
  • $50 per course administrative fee, due before starting the course.

These costs are in addition to regular MOHS tuition fees and MiaPrep.com membership.

Please note that the first required course is a free, non-credit orientation course. Students typically complete this self-paced course in less than two weeks.
Compare this to the national average of nearly $900 per course for public, in-state universities! This is a great way to earn college credits for an extremely low price!
